The Time : Space Loops

The Time-Space Loops. -Southeast Asia -Taiwan Contemporary Art Interchange Exhibition This exhibition is trying to reflect the needs which we are seeking for territoriality. The “loop” is a metaphor for the heterogeneous culture in the contemporary Taiwan societies. It is like the particles, collide and interact with each other, and generate the magnetic field. The artist tries to extend the “locality” from the idea of “regional geography” to consider the possibilities that the coexistence of nationalities.

    An Act of Showing : ARIs and Place

    Set as a material conversation between Artist Run Initiatives (ARIs) and Aboriginal Art Centres in Australia and the Asia-Pacific, this project embodies and provokes conversations about place: How does place matter for artists? Why do ARIs exist in specific places? What is the place of practice?Writer Chris Kraus’s  radical localism points to the importance of the local places of art-making compared to global-centrism noting that ARIs create 'an opportunity to remain in one’s own community and assert an alternative ethos.

    We invite six essential art spaces from Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, which includes artist residency organizations, galleries and artist-based spaces. The common issue is that how the conditions of different countries, religious, culture, economy and geography influence the ecosystem of art.

    In recent work, the use of images is the most noticeable. The features of this medium created more gaps for exploration in its slim and non-physical form. From the movements in history, the use of found objects and site based installations has destroyed many sensory formations within the frame of paintings.
