Art Base - New Form I

This is the first curated show as part of the OCAC series, in 1999. The new generation artists’ works presented in this show is not only to understand the plastic art subject in the field of arts, but also to connect the internet practices in their everyday living conditions. This condition is immersed in their everyday lives and ways to think, and at the same time formed in their art practices. Large amount of information is exchanged through the web; the artists are able to be an active part of the arts conversations in the datas of international sites. Therefore, the curatorial mission for Art Base - New Form I is not only to exhibit plastic arts’ own framework, but also to immerse one in the exhibited site’s situation, and to exam, refine, and transfer the new generation’s life style into their own art practices.

    Post Document

In 2006, a new generation of artists tried to develop a new language that can be part of our every-day living, rather than restricted by unchangeable classical procedures. The clues of these can be tracked in the previous Taipei Biennials, like Great Theatre of the World, Do You Believe in Reality?, and also Dirty Yoga in 2006.
